The absence of the first slur in FE (→EE1) is most probably an oversight of the engraver of FE. It was completed in EE2, probably on the basis of comparison with GE.

The notation of accidentals in this passage is inaccurate in the sources, which, however, does not impede the interpretation of the correct text. In GC and previous FE, eight sharps are missing – before f, c, f1 and c2 in the L.H. and before c2, f2, c3 and f3 in the R.H. In EE, GE and FE4 the signs were added, but only GE2 includes the fully correct notation.

In GC and FE1 (→FE2→FE3,EE1), there is no accidental before the top most note of the 2nd chord in the L.H. This patent in this context inaccuracy was corrected in FE4, GE and EE2.

The introduced in the proofreading of FE3 (→FE4) change of e to e is undoubtedly a Chopin improvement – e naturally combines with the fixed in the previous bars F minor key, not to mention the analogy from bar 41. The correction was introduced also in EE2. Similarly in bar 225.

The absence of accidentals on the 2nd and 3rd beat of bar 40 and 2nd beat of bar 41 in GC and FE1 (→FE2→EE1) is almost certainly Chopin's mistake. It is confirmed by naturals raising g1 to g1 in bar 40 and g to g in bar 41, added in the most probably authentic proofreading of FE3 (completed with the last missing  in FE4). Similarly in bars 228-229.
