Chopin added the trill's fingering in FED. It proves that in certain situations, e.g., at the beginning of the piece, the composer would start the trill from the main note. category imprint: Differences between sources |

The sources reveal Chopin's hesitation concerning the fingering in this bar. According to the indications in A and FED, the fingering order for the 1st group of semiquavers is 5215, while FE (→GE,EE) gives 5125. However, neither A nor FED determines the fingering of the two following semiquaver groups – it can be both 4215 and 4125. In the main text we adopt a variant solution, in which we collate the digits featured in the sources. Additionally, we suggest a notation including all fingering possibilities stemming from various interpretations of these source notations which do not determine the fingering in the 2nd and 3rd groups of semiquavers. category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations issues: Annotations in teaching copies , Annotations in FED , Authentic corrections of FE |

In both bars in A (→FE), there are no accidentals before the last note of the 2nd group of semiquavers. These patent oversights were completed in GE and EE. The sharps are also written in pencil in FES. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Annotations in teaching copies , EE revisions , GE revisions , Omission of current key accidentals , Annotations in FES , Inaccuracies in A |
