Principles adopted for the main text of the Impromptu A flat Major Op. 29

We adopt A as the main text – the only preserved manu­script – compared with FE1 i EE1, which were based on separate manuscripts. We take into consideration Chopin’s annotations in three pupils’ copies – FED, FEJ, FES. We correct quite numerous – particularly in A and FE – obvious omissions of accidentals.
